Who Should Attend

This educational activity is designed for medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgical oncologists, pathologists, and other healthcare providers involved or interested in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with breast cancer.

 

Objectives

After successful completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• Identify the most clinically relevant data presented at the 31st Annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium
• Discuss the current controversy regarding the role of aromatase inhibitors and evaluate the updates of the clinical trials presented at the 31st Annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium which evaluate the role of tamoxifen as part of a switching strategy versus the use of an aromatase inhibitor alone
• Evaluate current clinical trial data which encompasses the various available hormone therapies for breast cancer and analyze emerging data on sequence versus combination preferences
• Define current issues surrounding testing and responsiveness to anti-HER-2 therapy in the metastatic and adjuvant setting, and describe emerging mechanisms of resistance to trastuzumab or lapatinib therapy
• Analyze the current role of molecular profiling of early stage breast cancer and identify appropriate patients for such profiling as well as the correlative decision-making process for specific adjuvant therapies
• Cite the results of newly reported adjuvant chemotherapy trials (National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP B-30), Breast Cancer International Research Group (BCIRG 005)) and evaluate the data in context with other standard adjuvant regimens for patients with early breast cancer eligible for chemotherapy
• Integrate the emerging data presented at the 31st Annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium into clinical practice

Registration Procedures

The registration and information desk will be staffed: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm

Payment: To pre-register, registration and payment must be received no later than 5 business days before meeting. Please register onsite after this date. Contact Imedex at +1 (678) 242 0906 or visit our website at www.imedex.com to ensure the course is being held as scheduled and to confirm that the meeting is not full. Registration fees must be remitted by credit card or check. Checks should be payable to Imedex, LLC. Attendee is not registered until full payment is received.

Registration Fee Inclusions: Registration fees include admittance to all scientific sessions, conference materials, processing of certificates of attendance or continuing medical education, and all event functions as specified in the agenda.

Cancellation: For registration fees to be refunded, written notice of cancellation must be received at meetings@imedex.com no later than 5 business days before meeting. The amount of registration fees remitted, minus a $25 administrative charge, will be refunded after the conference. Substitutions are accepted with written notification. No refunds will be made if notice is received after 5 business days before meeting.
