Dear Colleague:
It
is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that
we invite you to attend “Focus on
Fungal Infections 17” scheduled for
March 7-9, 2007 in San Diego, California.
Year after year, this conference enjoys
great success and has become an international
forum for world leaders in mycology and
infectious disease management to share their
knowledge of fungal infections and how to
optimize patient care.
“Focus”
recognizes both the clinical and the laboratory
aspects of antifungal therapy and offers
a variety of educational tools to instruct
its diverse audience. Expert academicians,
private practice physicians, laboratory
specialists, and specialized veterinarians
will share the newest information through
a combination of lectures, case studies,
poster abstracts and a mycology workshop.
This year, special sessions will be held
on antifungal trial design and on bridging
the gap from pets to humans and back to
pets. Eminent infectious disease specialist
William Dismukes, MD, will touch on the
highlights of his 30-year career with lessons
learned in the management of fungal infections
in various hosts.
In
addition, the Scientific Committee annually
recognizes the efforts of researchers who
make significant contributions in medical
mycology through esteemed and highly competitive
awards for both established and young investigators.
We invite you to submit your studies for
consideration.
This
year we will enjoy the natural and cultural
beauties of San Diego, California, California's
second largest city. Bordered by Mexico,
the Pacific Ocean, the Anza-Borrego Desert
and the Laguna Mountains, San Diego offers
immense options for visitors. We hope you
complement your meeting experience with
some time to enjoy this beautiful city.
We
hope you will join us for two and half days
of learning at Focus on Fungal Infections
17. We know you will thoroughly enjoy this
educational experience!
Sincerely,
Elias
J. Anaissie, MD and Michael G. Rinaldi,
PhD
