WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This educational activity is designed for medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other healthcare providers involved or interested in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of solid tumors.
OBJECTIVES
After completing this educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the emerging role of targeted therapies in the treatment of breast cancer, renal cell carcinoma, colorectal cancer, noncolorectal gastrointestinal cancer, lung cancer, head and neck cancer, and malignant melanoma
- Compare and contrast the efficacy and safety of different regimens involving chemotherapy in combination with targeted biologics for solid tumors
- Outline management strategies for breast cancer, renal cell carcinoma, colorectal cancer, noncolorectal gastrointestinal cancer, lung cancer, head and neck cancer, and malignant melanoma in light of the most recent clinical data
- Discuss the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) pathways involved in malignant conditions
- Describe the potential role of immunotherapeutics, targeted agents, and novel chemotherapeutics in the treatment of malignant melanoma and other cancers
- Translate the results of recent clinical trials in solid tumor malignancies and incorporate them into clinical practice
