Who Should Attend
This educational activity is designed for gynecologists, oncologists, radiation therapists, pathologists, and other practitioners involved in the diagnosis and management of gynecologic cancers including ovarian, endometrial, and cervical cancers.
Objectives
After successfully completing this educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Assess the appropriate clinical usage of the human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccines in the prevention of cervical cancer and the role of preventative screening in the vaccination era
- Apply advances in targeted therapy and surgical approaches to clinical practice for advanced and metastatic cervical cancer
Determine ways to adequately manage cervical cancer in the pregnant patient
- Summarize advances in and the role of adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy in the management of endometrial cancer
- Discuss recent clinical advances among uterine sarcomas and trophoblastic disease as they relate to the therapeutic management of these diseases
- Determine the optimal surgical management of ovarian cancer as well as appropriate timing of second-line chemotherapy based on disease stage and clinical presentation
- Discuss clinical data that may provide evidence to support new treatment options in ovarian cancer
- Formulate the most favorable approach in the management of gynecological cancers by incorporating expert perspectives based upon emerging data
